ERROR: The certificate of 'git.io' is not trusted.

Ошибка на Debian/Ubuntu вида: 

ERROR: The certificate of 'git.io' is not trusted.
ERROR: The certificate of 'git.io' hasn't got a known issuer.

Решение - доустановить пакет ca-certificates: 

# apt-get install ca-certificates
